A Wonderful Show at the Virginia Quilt Museum

March 15, 2011

On March 12, the VA Quilt Museum hosted a reception for the quilters who had their work hanging in the museum's current exhibit, The Magic of Mirrors: The Beauty of Kaleidoscope Quilts.  I was en route from Prague, but a number of current and former Jinny Beyer Studio staffers attended.

Bunnie Jordan & Paula Golden, curators of the exhibit

Bunnie Jordan and Paula Golden curated the show.  Both of them used to teach at my annual Hilton Head seminar and both had quilts hanging in the show. In fact, the idea for the show grew out of the kaleidoscope theme we explored two years at the seminar.

In fact, quilts from twelve current or fromer staffers hung at the show, along with quilts from Paula Nadelstern, Ricky Tims, Jane Sassaman, and several antique quilts, too. My quilt, Sundance, is also part of the exhibit.

Here are a few photos from the event and exhibit.

I'm sorry I missed the show:  it certainly looked like everyone had a great time!

The show runs through May 14.  You can find details on the Virginia Quilt Museum website.

Happy Quilting! Jinny
