Olde World Star
This quilt, containing more than 50 different fabrics, was inspired by Jinny's Soft-Edge Piecing technique which combines piecing and applique. In progress for four years, it was completed in the fall of 1994. It is featured in her book Soft-Edge Piecing . Broderie Perse is used in the squares between the points of the stars. It took more than 25 hours to do the buttonhole stitch in each of those squares. 84" x 110" Detail of the broderie perse technique in "Olde World Star".
