Quilt Details: Borealis

"Fragmentation" -- dividing a patch into many smaller patches -- is a key design element of Borealis.  Jinny drafted her block, Inspiration Point, into a 60" square. Then she divided each shape into smaller versions of the same shape to "fragment" the design. Careful color placement and shading creates a quilt with many glowing areas.

Borealis is featured on the cover of Jinny's book,  Patchwork Portfolio, now out of print.
