Da Vinci is defined by careful shading which creates an optical illusion of a curved surface with simple straight line sewing. Jinny used the the Golden Proportion, a ratio often seen in nature, to determine the varying widths of the strips.

The quilt is machine pieced using strip-piecing techniques.
